Lynch Talks About JDRF
Jackie Lynch was a guest presenter at a recent meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Watseka. Lynch is the 13 year old daughter of John and Susan Lynch, and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 8. Lynch delivered a presentation on the challenges of living with Type 1 Diabetes. Advances in medicine and technology allow Lynch to monitor her health and to treat symptoms far more quickly than a patient could just a few years ago. While Type 1 Diabetes does present challenges for Lynch, she is extremely active in sports, music, and excels in school. She recently applied for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Children’s Congress in Washginton, D.C. to be held in July 2017. For those who would like to support JDRF or would like more information on living with Type 1 Diabetes, please visit www.jdrf.org. The Kiwanis Club of Watseka is committed to supporting children of our community, and donates time and resources to change the world one child at a time.
